Very very cheap.

Cheaper than a flight to sodding Beiruit cheap.
Emirates seems the way to go - approx. AED 4,000 for 2 ppl economy return including taxes, compared to Singapore Airline's AED 6,200 for similar flight plan.

I've been a few times..but in the end just stayed in the hotel or went to a nearby pub...'tis just another city.

The beer is very expensive...but there are outside eateries where you can get very cheap beer and food. Avoid Singha beer...gives you a nasty headache ! Inse will know the best places to visit.

hmmm flight times are a bit shit, 9 hours there including 1 stopover, then 7 back, times are rubbish as well - I'll keep looking.

Yeah I used to drink Singh in thailand if they had run out of Chang.

Nah, I know he's just jealous of the shorts. was on my way home from work.

the zoo is about the most famous of the tourist sites and worth a visit. they even have a night zoo

apart from that there are the Botanical gardens, Sentosa Island ( http://www.sentosa.com.sg/explore_sentosa/index.html ) and if you are feeling energetic a big natural rainforest park in the middle of the Island where you will see monkeys and other wild creatures (incl cobras)
