Impulse Purchases
Anyone else really shit with buying stuff that's not an everyday purchase without giving it much thought?
I just went to Mall of Emirates at lunch, went into Virgin looking for Spooks box sets, got side tracked with my colleague by the iPad 2. We both bought one. I don't even feel guilty. Feel free to start apple bashing / flash is missing / etc etc.... |
Re: Impulse Purchases
I bought a flat. Now that was impulse purchase as I wasn't planning on buying one till December.
Otherwise no, I don't go for impulse purchases except perhaps for food. I'll go to the market with a grocery list that only has carrots and broccoli on it, and come back with the above plus a nice piece of steak or pudding. But for everything else I think long and hard for a few weeks before buying it.

Re: Impulse Purchases
That's always been the story of DXB : besides the work and shopping and eating/drinking out and partying ( I won't mention the other hobbies which officially are prohibited ) , there's not very much else to do there ;
some love it , some try it for a while and then leave the place . I know ample examples of both types . |
Re: Impulse Purchases
Outside rent and living expenses I spent very little money in Dubai.
There's plenty to do. Recreational activities are all over the place - golf, rugby leagues, football leagues and all the assorted water sports. Went camping quite often during the cooler months. I was never bored and I wasn't going out partying every night (although many people do it).

Re: Impulse Purchases
Advice for Scamp: steer well clear of the Rattlesnake, not a good place for impulse purchasing

Re: Impulse Purchases
It's sat on my desk next to me, staring at me, asking to be opened and played with.
I'd been thinking about it for a while, so just thought...**** it. Buy one. Very Happy Scamp. |

Re: Impulse Purchases
I bought a Rolex Submariner a few months ago on impulse . It is a magical thing of desire and beauty.
I keep taking it off when i go for a swim which kind of defeats the fu**ing point ! Every single day i'm happy when someone asks me the time :D |

It may have been an impulse buy on the day but it was 40 years plus in the making |
Re: Impulse Purchases
I intend on buying coffee but end up with beer, that's about as impulsive a shopper I am. I hate shopping, always have...unless it's something useful like a new pc. Don't even buy music anymore, though I reckon I have bought enough music to make up for that over the years.

Re: Impulse Purchases

And also running shoes. Only today a forked out another 120quid on a pair of Newton trainers. That is 3 pairs of those i have along with my 3 asics, 1 nike, 1 zoot and K-Swiss. addiction is a terrible thing... |
