A friend and former colleague did that. Combination of an overbearing, sit-there-and-manage-but-don't-do-any-work boss and a sycophantic but otherwise likeable senior colleauge: my friend ended up telling them, "You're too rude to work for and so are you." Then walked out. He got re-employed by them a year later, after they had a bit of a humble pie meal.
