This Alabbar chap is one of the guys who got sacked from the Dubai Investment Corp couple of days ago as Dubai effectively defaults on its debt obligations.

The fact that just a couple of days before the guy can stand up and give such a bullish and confident speech about Dubai's economy shows either complete cluelessness or more likely the kind of 'no US tanks in baghdad' statements we've come to expect from Dubai's leaders. No wonder nobody believes a single word they say now.

I expect over the next few days that many barrels of turd polish will be liberally applied throughout the local mouthpiece media to cover over quite what a disaster this is.

In fact, turd polish looks like THE business to be in in Dubai these days.
