I'll be happy to sort somewhere that is easily accessible and at an affordable price range!

You sound like me 6 years ago offering this bunch to organise a meet up.
It's harder than it seems.

Surely it can't be that difficult. Suggest a date/time and if people can make it, great - if not, wait until the next one...

lol I know the issuesof organising a meet up with online strangers! But as I mentioned, me and my mate will be doing iftar at different places regularly this month, so I'll drop a date, time and venue to those who are interested, if they want to turn up, they can!

Yeah, until all the people you actually know and like have said no, then you're stuffed. Or people cancel last minute. Or they change plans last minute. Or they moan about location.

It's a world full of humans unfortunately and they're unpredictably fantastical.

is this going to be a boozy iftar?

Re: Iftar meetups

... and most Iftar's are shite.

You stand in a room looking at a great buffet with people starving to eat it. Then the bell rings and it's like animals to the feeding pot. 15mins later, everyone is stuffed and giggy. 30mins after that the hotel kicks you out so they can set up for Sohar.

So you have probably 60mins in the room: 15 looking at the food with people wanting to faint, 15 eating, 15 passing out, 15 getting ready to leave.

Of course, it shouldn't be like that... but that's generally how a 5* hotel iftar works.
