Default I predict that this will backfire on the Tories

There's a fancy phrase, which I cannot remember, for this sort of advertising (in which you tell people to do something, hoping they will do the opposite) - and it very rarely works.

Telling voters to "vote for me" (i.e. Gordon Brown) might just be taken as good advice by the millions too stupid to see the irony in the accompanying messages. Doh!

And people wonder why noone votes anymore- because its all spin, how about telling us what they are going to do for the country rather than playing tit for tat games- I'd love a party to rise out from this advertising game and actually give some honest policies that might actually make a difference....

Everything except the clothes and the tagline

In the original, the text throws out some Tory slogans. It has the same ridiculous, airbrushed/photoshopped appearance.

It's hard to get to through the media games, but they do exist (pretty clearly on Labour's side, less so but emerging on the Tory side). E.g. the Tories' decision to roll back the National Insurance rise. There's a chancellor debate on the news tonight if you fancy tuning in...

I suppose that's testament to the realistic look of the posters...and a damning indictment of the Tories!
