I phone -hoorah
So, I finally made it out of my office into the real world to buy my very first i-phone- woop woo! And a big thank you to airmiles for making this a freebie :-)
So what apps are a must have, and any general dos or don'ts?

Update the software as little and as seldom as possible.
Apple updates have fried two of my phones the latest only a couple of weeks ago. On the plus side etisalat are really good at replacing bricked iPhones because of software updates.

Make sure you back up the phone to iTunes.
As it came from AirMiles it may have been sourced outside of MENA, so you may have Skype pre-installed or be able to download.
Viber is a voice only alternative.
WhatsApp is the app I use the most.
Google Maps or Nokia here.
Skitch. Bit fiddly on an iPhone, better on an iPad.
Dropbox I find very useful occasionally.
VLC for watching media.
TuneIn radio.
AlJazeera for watching the news when you are away.
