But that was years ago.

Bottom line, no assets in the UK, (Obv UK pp holder), now needs an offshore account.

What do you bumblebees suggest?

I went with Lloyds International in Isle of Man.

Minimum balance is (or was when I signed up) 5,000 in either GBP, EUR or USD and if you have that balance in any one of the currencies, you can open accounts in all 3 currencies with debit cards provided for each.

Online banking works very well and have only had good experiences with the call centre, they were particularly helpful in couriering original signed and stamped statement copies to me within 2 days when I was in a bit of a bind.

I don't have much in the way of perks though, it's just basic offshore current accounts with minimal interest, I just mainly use it as a vehicle to get my excess funds out of the Middle East until I can decide what to do with it.

Lloyds, IoM.
Fairly easy to set up.
Good service, when they ****ed up my letter that I'd had stamped by a lawyer they credited the account with the cost of getting another done.
Good service since.
Basic account, the debit card looks a bit shit but such is, can't have everything.

like GAVTEK & SCAMP I was with Lloyds offshore and had to maintain a minimum bal of £2.5k - 25k quids is :eek::eek:
Although with HSBC premier acct i think you have to hold a minimum of AED 250k
