Chefs just about get off with it, as do air hostesses and little kids, but other that it's everyone, male or female.

Traditional etiquette says that women keep hats on indoors. For example, men must remove a hat in church, women don't.

forgot about the Jews, they can wear their cap aswell. Still look silly, but there we go atleast I don't appear racist.

Traditional etiquette says a load of horse shit at times.

Smear some thing sticky on your head, honey, glue, (your choice) then stick it in the sand. your head will be covered and therefore no longer offensive plus you won't be wearing a hat so obviously won't look like the aforementioned twat.
You can thank me later when you start to hear those knickers hitting the dance floor upon your grand entrance.

Oh, and you will always be out of place in a trilby if you're not a spy working for MI6 in the 70's. Same for small Stetson unless you're one of those American kiddie beauty pageant train wrecks a la toddlers and tiaras.
Sand-cap all the way Honey.

Eva's avatar wears a very nice hat indeed. Probably wouldn't suit you much, though....

As an involunary slaphead, though, I recomend the Austrailian bush hat.... WITHOUT CORKS!!

Nice...and don't forget Humphrey Bogart in "Casablanca" and Harrison Ford in "Indiana Jones", both wore those snap brim fedoras with style!

I think there should be more hat wearing. Watch TV footage from the 50s and almost everyone has a hat.

I had this one earlier

but now I've changed into this low-key number
