Why? Because he can flick a remote around with complete coordination or do stunts on a bicycle.
He's an effn animation ffs.
If I really want to look into it a bit closer (which I don't but will) the whole ad is about trust....about the consumer being able to trust toshiba products.
How have Toshiba done that? By presenting us with a robot who trusts his manufacturers to give him the latest tech to be able to avoid falling in holes and be able to ride a bike without endangering himself.
This is presented to us as an example of how trustworthy toshiba and it's products are.
But hang on...toshiba are lying to us....the robot doesn't trust toshiba anymore than we should because the effn robot doesn't exist in the first place! Essentially toshiba are liers!!!!!
Aside from that....does the ad have to run every ad break!

... however the Sedar blinds ads with the appalling dubbing and monotone delivery makes me want to go and burn the shop down - who does these dreadful ads?

I never see these Sedar ads....but all ads have an increase in volume...it really is annoying....I find my self doing what my grandmother does....muting the entire ad break.

Ever torture yourself listening to a song you really hate just to reaffirm to yourself how bad it is watch a program for the same reason.....I do that sometimes when that McCaffrey pr.at is on.....His 'pals' on the show ain't much chop either......not a brain cell to rub between them.
