Well mine hasn't been to entertaining so far, was woken up at 6 am by DD. Going to go for a swim now.
managed to waste the entire morning and early afternoon on the basis that i was actually going out this evening - had made plans with a contact from the uk for drinks and a meal in town tonight. Spent 90 f@cking minutes on KF St in Sharjah trying to get a cab. no joy getting a single one who was; * unoccupied * not from Dubai or Ajman * accommodating enough to stop AND * willing to go all the way to Jumairah. After a certain amount of time you wonder whether to stick at it on the basis that luck may change, on the other hand do you decide to stick it. This actually broke my record for waiting for a cab. previously it was 85 minutes (at Century Mall trying to return to Shj) Worst thing is that i wasn't in my usual shorts/sandals combo for an evening walking around Shj - because it was supposed to be my first foray into Western style going out in Dubia I'm properly dressed, shoes, dark shirt etc, and it was so uncomfortable. i'm wondering if i did the right thing in coming out here at all :mad: |

Cabs are a bloody nightmare wherever you live - for some reason this last couple of weeks they have stopped accepting advance bookings????

JVR that is a nightmare! I feel so sorry for you. I think we should try and find someone over your neck of the woods that wouldn't mind picking you up and getting you over here for the night out. Any offers anyone?? I couldn't be further away if I tried being in Al Barsha! Another idea is to ask the watchman in your building if he has a friend who will bring you Our watchman gets us to the airport etc. Also I have got a number for a lady who chauffers you around! let me dig it out. if you pre book her she will bring you then take you back.
