How old were you?

Re: How old were you?
I wouldn't be concerned if it was only 7 yrs difference I think thats quite normal, I'm talking about 15yrs difference. I think that's going to be difficult for you to understand!

Well anyway, to get back on track and answer the OP question. I am 23 years old and I was 24 when I first did it...I hope!

Re: How old were you?
There is quite a distinct difference between going out with someone and marrying them. It’s true there are fewer social implications now to age differences between couples.
For young men marriage isn’t important, they are happy to wait a while and play the market. So if young women want the stability of marriage they would of course tend to end up with older guys who also want that stability (and of course to settle down and make some sprogs). There are a lot of good reasons for young ladies to marry a gentleman a few years older and so they do .

Yawn. Listen to the bored feminist.
You still can't obscure the fact that it's unusual for a large age gap to exist between the man and woman where the woman is the older of the two parties. You still can't obscure the fact that it's much more common for older men to have younger (by which I mean more than just a few years) wives than it is for older women to have younger husbands. It may and it does exist but it is hardly the norm and when such a scenario happens it invariably raises eyebrows and comments.
Look at the list of average age at first marriage in the wiki article below.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Age_at_first_marriage
Not a single country has the woman as the older. So it's hardly 'common' as you'd like to portray it. One or two years older is not uncommon, but five or six years older is very uncommon.
Does it make a difference in general? No. I don't care, and despite raised eyebrows and comments most people also don't really care, nor was the topic whether there's something wrong with an older woman dating or marrying a younger man. But to pretend that it's a normal everyday occurrence for a 37 year old woman to date a 30 year old man is ridiculous.

And when does the age gap become 'large' enough to be abnormal and uncommon - 7 years is small and normal, 8 medium and sub-normal and 9 large and abnormal?? Good grief!
Lets all strive to be the same and conform , things will be much better in every way then.
