How many years have you lived in the UAE?
January will be 18months for me
Not quite sure what to make of it. Is that good, or is it bad? Either way I've seen a lot of changes, an astonishing amount when you get down to it. Still miss the rain and holding the miss' hand.
How long have you been in the UAE/ME? Any regrets?

Ten and a half years - the first seven in Dubai and the rest here in Muscat. No regrets so far and, at the moment, absolutely no wish to return home (UK) either.

Will be 17 years in January. Mostly in Dubai with a quick 3.5 years in Riyadh in the mid 00s but kept the family in Dubai during that stint.
Never regretted a minute of it. I strongly suspect I will be here until I retire now but no idea where on earth to retire to yet.
Two of my kids have grown up here and now live and work here. Only my daughter chose London over Dubai.
Yes, I have seen immense changes :-)

You know there's a poll option for your questions?
Now in my 10th year. You can hold your spouse's hand in the UAE as long as you do no more than that.

Four years from 2008-2012 and then back at the beginning of this year.
Didn't quite expect to return but wasn't unhappy to. But I won't be unhappy to leave either when the time comes.

7 years in 3 well-separated stints (Riyadh, Cairo, UAE), plus 3 years in Morocco, with probably another 3-4 to go. After that, hopefully only back on short-term assignments. Only Riyadh wasn't truly enjoyable.

jeez! some really old hands here. 4 years only and I consider myself a virgin yet. Maybe when Im in double figures Ill want to move, not yet anyway.
I want them to make a fast train from RAK to here so I can work here but live in RAK, or somewhere similar (laid back with nice beaches), is that too much to ask?
