Ok , here goes...:fingerscrossed:

It was the soundtrack for a 1990s American TV series. The opening was a guy in a classic American 50s or 60s car or pickup cruising down the road in Vegas. The vehicle was Black and the guy was dressed in Black also, sort of Reservoir Dogs style.

I can only recall the following words " and I'm walking down the street " . It had a 50s-60s wiseguy vibe to it, and no it wasn't the series "Wiseguy".

Oh and another one, this one I has a video. Looking for the song at the start of this video.

Was the show http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crime_Story_(TV_series)? The theme song was Del Shannon's Runaway

As I walk along,
I wonder what went wrong,
With our love, a love that was so strong.
And as I still walk on,
I think of the things we've done
Together, a-while our hearts were young.

I'm a-walkin' in the rain,
Tears are fallin' and I feel the pain,
Wishin' you were here by me,
To end this misery
And I wonder--
I wah-wah-wah-wah-wonder,
Why,
Why, why, why, why, why she ran away,
Yes, and I wonder,
A-where she will stay-ay,
My little runaway,
Run, run, run, run, runaway.

I'm a-walkin' in the rain,
Tears are fallin' and I feel the pain,
Wishin' you were here by me,
To end this misery
And I wonder--
I wah-wah-wah-wah-wonder,
Why,
Why, why, why, why, why she ran away,
Yes, and I wonder,
A-where she will stay-ay,
My little runaway,
Run, run, run, run, runaway.
Run, run, run, run, runaway.
Run, run, run, run, runaway

Oh thank you soo much!!, that is it!

Thats 2 for 2 from BE.

I'd asked my friend about the g-code song since he is an expert on hip-hop and has made cameo appearance in hip hop video but he came up blank.

I used to go into HMV and sing or hum said tune and sometimes recite some random words from the song. Looking back on it now I'm mortified - the guys were always so cool and the last song that I sang to the HMV cashiers was 'shake, shake, shake senora' from the film Beetlejuice -Thanks for taking me back to that cringeworthy time - dying now!!!!
