Default Hotel Loyalty/Discount Cards

Just had a call from the Monarch Hotel, 850 dhs includes over night stay worth 1500 and vouchers to the value of 2850 dhs. Not tempted as hotel in shit location. Years ago we had a Meridien one but the discontinued it which was a shame. Anyone else got hotel loyalty cards?

Rotana Exclusive Card. 850dhs/year - you get a voucher for 250dhs, if two dine 50% off food, 3 dine 30% off food, 4 dine 25% off food, 15% off all beverages. Good rates for their hotel rooms. Don't know if it still applies but you used to be able book two rooms for the discounted rate. Did this at the Beach Rotana in AD a couple of times.

We've certainly had our money's worth over the years

Top status on Starwood and Hyatt. Both are good for upgrades to the best non-suite rooms - Starwood occasionally put me in suites (the Royal Suite at the Sheraton Jeddah was jawdropping) whereas Hyatt give four automatic suite upgrades a year. Plus I get lots of free nights, free internet and breakfast, and fellated upon arrival.

We live nowhere a Rotana and it's still saved us a shed load of money. Our prefered place to eat is (and has been for over ten years) Teatro at Towers Rotana. Call us boring if you want but the menu suits us (neither of us has enormous appetites) so sushi, sashimi or a couple of appetisers for a meal does it for us. Although there is a good selection of other meals, such as pizza, European, noodles, curries etc. And a lively bar scene, too.

Definitely get the Rotana Rewards card.............. mine paid for itself in under a month at Al Murooj's Tuesday Seafood nights in their Pergolas restaurant.

[PS - memo to Blue Cat - Monarch is in a shit location, is it? Some very fine people live right next door, I'll have you know............. ]

Jumeirah's Sirius card is a very good loyalty card to have.
Once you get the Gold card there are lots of privileges..free entry to the Burj with 3 guests, use of the executive floor (free breakfast/afternoon tea/evening buffet) airport pickup/complimentry breakfast which was a good job because when I stayed at the Carlton Towers in London last month breakfast was 48 pounds!!
I also used my sirius points and stayed for 7 nights for nothing with an upgrade to a suite :-))

It doesn't cost anything. You just pick up a temp blue card from any Jumeirah outlet. You get 1 point for every $3 nett spend..once you have 1001points you go to silver card, that gives you 10% discount on bills and some other privileges. when you acrue points you can redeem them for meals/hotel stays etc. You need 4001 point to get your Gold card and then you need to maintain that 4001 each year to keep your Gold status. If you use Jumeirah outlets a lot it is really worth it. Don't forget that The Rivington Grill and The Ivy are now under the Jumeirah umbrella :-)
