You'd be lucky. You have to have an employment related residency visa to live in the UAE. Or set up your own company to work freelance, at a cost of AED 20k+ a year.

It's not legal either. You don't really know anything about Dubai, do you?

Listen. Unless your husband (if you have one) has a visa and you're on it, you will need a visa to live here. You need a visa to get a driving licence, to rent a place, to get medical insurance etc. Oh, and let's not forget – you need a visa for an internet connection.

This isn't the type of place you can just rock up and work from home.

Ok, I'll let you into a very closely guarded secret. I get paid to post on this internet site - British Expats - they want it to look like it's a busy forum but it's fallen on hard times.

Basically it's just you and me. I type all the other people's comments here. I have such a laugh here all alone with all the different personalities. My head does hurt sometimes and the voices never stop anymore...

That's why I was so glad when you showed up - you're the first real poster here in months....

Maybe you can work here too?

Well you could come down to the next meet up ( like this one http://britishexpats.com/forum/showthread.php?t=771454 ).

I only managed to bring 3 of my alter egos to this one, the other ones couldn't make it. Still I had a laugh on my own at the bar, The Dean is a large personality.

Next time I promise to have a veritable schizophrenic full house just for you and I/we/us can all see about how to get you a job here.

I suggest you start by studying the self help movie about finding a job from literally thin air. It's called "Being John Malkovic"
