Fab - you are all great
We've got the ubiquitous once-in-my-lifetime trip for the kids to Legoland as well - 2 days booked for the park, Qbot thing booked, on a weekday, etc. Cost a bloody arm & leg though!

A good central hotel is The St Giles on the Tottenham Court rd. They have a sister hotel at Feltham just outside heathrow so you can transfer there for your last night stay..they have drivers available to take you from one hotel to the other (7 series BMW's). If you leave for your flight before breakfast they pack you a snack to take with you.

top secret hotels site has great bargains, read the descriptions properly and you can usually guess where the hotel is. Some friends of mine stayed at the Mayfair hotel for £80 a night.

Re: Help me be a tourist in my own country!
So, it's been a good 20 years since I went into the centre of London.
My kids are 7yrs and 8yrs old and want to see the Natural History museum, Science museum, Tower of London, London Dungeon, possibly London Zoo.
So - question no1: how many days would that lot take to do, comfortably, and not rushed?
Question no2: where to stay and travel in? proviso is that last day of holiday we have an 8am departure flight from Heathrow which may or may not impact the decision...
Question no3: what's the best way to pay for transport around London? given that it may be many years later that we return!
thanks in advance
