Many UK Muslim's do not want to be with anyone else , that's one of the reasons that the UK is a fractured broken basket case. Integration is the last thing they want , they actively seek segregation like they do elsewhere.

Until the posh boys realize that the only choice they have is Assad then you're on a loser. The involvement of British forces is a token gesture and a one that Dish Face is clamoring to be a part of . It will have little or no relevance to the outcome.

It all starts and ends with the House Of Saud .

I hate to break it to you but we have been attacking the daesh in Iraq since parliament decided by 524 - 43, that we should on 26th Sept last year. Now they are voting on whether to step over the border (which the daesh do not recognise anyway) and attack them in Syria.

Unpalatable. Still I'm sure when this is all over everyone will shake hands and forget about this small misunderstanding.

I think the situation in Syria a little more complex however.

Not least with the involvement of the Russians. It can only be a matter of time before the Russians bombing those that the West are backing becomes a major issue, and which could turn the situation very ugly very quickly. .... The Russians may get something of a taste of what happened to MH370, though arguably the Turks have already given them a taste of that medicine.

Well, I did wonder why this was not raised in among the speechifying debate session. Was it?

Hilary Benn nails why we are taking action. Although Corbyn looks less than impressed.

The Saudis are also fighting extremists in Yemen and holding oil prices low which pressures Russia so in addition to being the friends or our enemies they are also the enemies of our other enemies which makes them our friends. Frenemies.
Welcome to the Middle East.

The Russians responded by bombing the beejeus out of the Turkmen rebels battling Assad, and who the Turks were trying to help by downing the Russian jet.
Russia is also moving more anti aircraft systems and more planes to the region.
Looks like the Russians are not going to let Assad fall or if they agree to his departure, they will want assurances they get to call the shots. Obama has no intention of taking on Russia. Glad Obama has not given into pressure from Hillary, McCain, the Saudis and the rest of the war party and gone into Syria with both feet.

Welcome to the Middle East.
Houthis aren't really extremists. Their fight is not really about religion , unlike Al Qaeda, ISIS and the other Saudi influenced or backed Sunni rebels.

It was touched upon but they specified them as our "Gulf Allies" you know the ones that run one of the most barbaric and corrupt regimes on the planet .

It's a mess and we're off to hell in a handcart.

Daesh (and let's call them that as apparently they don't like it) are bastards and no one wants to let them be but when has a the West intervening in the ME actually made thing better? You win few friends by dropping bombs.

I understand KSA says it can't get involved as it is dealing with issues in Yemen. That's like saying you can't go to work because you broke a nail. More won't than can't.

I have a great deal of respect for Hilary Benn and his years in International Development should have given him a better understanding of global issues than many of his colleagues. Whilst I didn't always agree with his views, I was also a fan of Tony Benn and say him speak several times. A man of conviction who had time for everyone.

This is Tony Benn talking against military action in 1998. I can only assume he would be against military action on this occasion but I would like to think he would still respect other opinions. Note a younger Jeremy Corbyn sat behind him.

The Indy had a nice little segment about the debate: If half of Britain are ‘terrorist sympathisers’ for opposing air strikes, then Isis will win the next election | Voices | The Independent
