Default Heather Watson

Bless her little cotton socks........ the wonderful year for British sport continues, with Heather Watson becoming the first British woman to win a WTA tour event since Sara Gomer won at Aptos in 1988...........

[Who's Sara Gomer?? Where's Aptos??]

It would have been a double celebration for Britain but Andy Murray managed to lose the final of the Shanghai Masters (to Novak Djokovic) despite having a total of five match points..........

"Bless her little cotton socks" ?

Could you sound any more patronising? Perhaps only by calling her a good girl...

Oh come on - it was obviously a joke (albeit probably a weak one) - my comment about the great year should have given you my real feelings........... and considering Sam Stosur was in that tournament, it's a superb result.

[Well? Do YOU know where Aptos is??? And have you ever heard of Sara Gomer???]

I haven't heard of most of these people, nor of Aptos.

Bored Feminazi is my assigned role here, is it not?

Great from Watson - really cool - but.... her opponent was ranked about 130 in the world - not to take away the first WTP title etc 'cos that's great - but you know...

Murray / Nole was a great match - shame he lost I guess, but great sport.

true, but that doesn't really mean that much... winning the title is great, really, and will propel her to greater heights. It's a really good achievement - let's get her winning against the top 10 next though....
