very american, but some of his stuff is just brilliant, I've loved 'glary days' since I was a kid and still love it now.

They're a bit of a cult band rather than mainstream - very good live, too...

Rain King, American Girls, Big Yellow Taxi, Accidentally in Love, and about a 100 other great songs on half a dozen albums....new album comes out on 25 March too....

Very American, but every song with a message, or which tells a story...

True - saying you don't like Springsteen is a bit like saying you don't like the Beatles... :p

Yeah, lyrically they aren't Michael Stipe or Dylan, but they're headed that way...

SYB, please remember you're talking to a fella from Newcastle, so all he has to go on is Ant & Dec, and Jimmy Nail (Crocodile Shoes etc).....and Auf Widersehen Pet....show him some pity..

balls, they're totally mainstream, there's nothing cult about them in the slightest.

File them with the spin doctor and hootie and the blowfish.

If you ever get the chance to see them live, they are excellent, and do a great version of Rain King / Thunder Road.....lead singer has an awesome voice
