Have you ever carried a weapon?

Re: Have you ever carried a weapon?
When in my kilt outfit, I always had a sgian dubh ("little knife") in my right sock...but had to hand it into security when I went to a disco in Birmingham in the 70s.
Now you can't wear them at all when flying...for obvious reasons.

Good to see that at least the sgian dubh gets the proper treatment...

Cheaper and easier to travel with, usually used by rental outfits.. If you own your own, you have a real one....

I forgot to put a pair of nail scissors in my suitcase and had them in my carry-on bags...they confiscated the scissors (that was Qantas domestic). Probably wouldn't risk carrying a sgian dubh on board though...quite expensive - the good ones...just in case it was confiscated !

Some Edinburgh kilt rental firms now insist that men MUST wear underwear if hiring a kilt. Though, no mention of what women have to do !?

Crochet hooks are debateable though, cos although I put mine (yes...) in my suitcase, I did see a young woman with one in her hair and she passed through. This was, however, still at the time where you could just point at your belt with a smile'n'shrug and get through the metal detector.

hey, "they" confiscated my great-aunt's obviously-lethal knitting needles a couple of years back.
