There really is no need to do this.

I've noticed that when forced to work in the backing sun, the smarter than average labourer is quite adapt at creating something similar out of bits of leftover cardboard packaging from around the site.

Looks like a Public Relations excercise, I mean who are they kidding with that kiddie setup. It will provide some breeze but really it looks like a bloody joke.

I got a Mexican Sombrero which is over 2 feet in diameter ; bet it is more effective at lessening the effects of the sun than this chintzy lookin thing.

My company pays out a hardship bonus to engineers when they are in certain locations, such as sakhlin Island. Our engineers here complained that as much as it is cold there, you can warm up and no hardship allowance is paid for the UAE in summer.

To counter this, engineers were issued a body vest lined with ice. It was like putting on a kevlar body armour and within 15mins, the ice melted. That lasted a day.

The guys still don't get a hardship allowance
