Has anyone tried to grow cactus in the UAE?

maybe obvious - but just wondering how things like Aloe Vera do here?

Easy to grow? Need much water?

Easy peasy. Of all the potted outdoor plants i have, the cacti are doing best. I only water them about once a month.
