Re: gyms that warn women not to lift heavy weights....
well, strictly speaking, if I were in a work environment and asked to lift the equivalent of my toddler and baby together, I would not only need H&S training and a risk assessment, but they'd also be considered a 2 person lift. Gotta laugh.

I should really follow my own advice and not get sucked in... But here goes.
The draft Code of Practice states the following:
"A general stereotype about men and women is that in terms of physique, most men are stronger than most women. Nevertheless it is likely to be unlawful sex discrimination for a gym to test every woman’s strength but not every man’s before allowing them access to weight lifting facilities."
The farking Daily Mail then adds:
"Health clubs that warn women not to lift heavy weights face prosecution under equality laws." There is NOTHING in the CoP that states that. Daily Mail sensationalising just to get people hooked.
"Legislation set out under Harriet Harman's forthcoming Equality Bill says that insinuating a woman might not be able to lift the same size weights as men could be considered 'unlawful sex discrimination'." The CoP doesn't say that--it talks about systematic testing of one gender and not the other.
The Daily Mail has poisoned the minds of so so so many people over the years into believing that the UK is doomed, 50% full of lazy immigrants, there's a paedophile on every corner, and the EU made the UK the mess it is now. As I've stated before, the Daily Mail is PORNOGRAPHY in its worst form. Come the revolution...

Looks like whoever said, in a different thread, that money can't buy you class was right (talking about me here). Definitely going to ask for my money back now. Forgot that Patsy always drank Bolly--hope you'll forgive my social lapse, being brung up in Southend leaves its mark, you know...

Doctor Feelgood at the Kursaal was one hell of a gig. Caught them 2 years ago (or what remains of them) at the Kings Hall in Ilkley--200 middle-aged people sitting down politely clapping. Aaaaaaarrrrrrrrrgggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhh

I just started with a personal trainer 3 weeks ago, he half bloody kills me but he's brilliant, he's working wonders.
