Re: Gordon Brown resigns
Im not sure about all the ins and outs of it and whether i am for it or not, basically, im unconvinced. its good and bad im afraid.
We have it in Scotland for that stupid thing we call a parliament and it let idiots in like the Socialist party a few years ago and maybe? the BNP, Greens (who did have seats and maybe still do??) etc might get seats in the future?
Good or bad??

I normally agree with a lot of your politcal posts. But i think that PR is the best chance for the likes of UKIP etc to have a voice.

I would not like to see the BNP idiots win any seats but a true PR system would do so .

Re: Gordon Brown resigns
however you must bear in mind that this isn't a problem as long as they are in minority. Yes they may spout their bizarre opinions in parliament, but as long as the other MP's don't agree it doesn't really matter.

I'm not a fan of parties such as ukip and bnp as they are parasites that exist only because of people's ignorance and fear of the unknown, but that doesn't mean that they should not be allowed to voice their opinions in a proper democracy.

With 36% of the vote...that number rings a bell.
Anyway, thread over. Godwin's Law applies.

it was a system of PR that allowed this chap into power

Anyone who has studied more than 2 minutes of european history knows that he came to power by promising to provide people with jobs and food on the table when the country was on its knees. That he had a hidden agenda and abused the power has nothing to do with a political voting system.

On a lighter note:
1. Type "David Cameron side view" into Google images 2. Look at first image
Made me smile anyway.....
