A bit hit and miss, same sort as downloading. If you want to watch an older film that's on DVD then yeah, quality is decent. One still in the cinemas will be predicatbly average / poor

A mate has tons, but the quality is iffy--sometimes brilliant, sometimes unwatchable.

I now use LoveFilm, which for a fiver or so a month gives a really good choice. Have to use a VPN which has its own issues, but overall I find it much better than watching pirated stuff.

Why would you watch a poor quality film? Most of the current ones (by which I mean in cinema as opposed to released this year) are available as a good download, if you know where to look, or better to wait surely?

I don't. I like the cinema and if it's something I really want to watch...otherwise it's download time.

Has anybody seen The Hobbit yet? As for the person who thought John Carter was goodIt was dreadful. Even my 9yo said the acting and effects were rubbish.

Movies I have watched recently and have enjoyed.

Detachment
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1683526/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1

The Perks of Being a Wallflower
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1659337/

Looper
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1276104/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1

US have done a version of Sherlock called Elementary, which is watchable, but inferior in every way to the UK version.

Someone in an earlier post wrote the words "Will Ferrell" and "very funny" in the same sentence.

Don't do that again please.

Elf is the exception when it comes to Will Ferrell. All his other films are rubbish (yes, even Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy..)

His films are usually low brow for sure.

I'm not a huge fan, but Old School and Stepbrothers are bloody funny.

Anchorman is massively overrated.

I think I saw 'Fargo' advertised for the coming weekend (can't remember which channel)...........

UNMISSABLE, with one of the truly great performances - by anyone, ever - from Frances McDormand.
