I recently watched a film called "Walkabout", Strange, strange film, and for a while not available to see due to distribution arguements. It's worth trying to find though.

The first time you've seen it young Scamp? It came out in 1973. For the pair of them together, I prefer Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid. I admire them purely for their acting abilities.

More recent films I have seen and recommend include Saving Mr Banks and Last Vegas. The latter features Michael Douglas, Morgan Freeman, Kevin Kline and Robert de Niro.

The Wee Man. Glasgow gansters, based on a true story. In the fine British tradition of crime films. Available on Sky movies.

Unbelievably it was. I had the choice of The STing or BC&TSDK which I've seen before, a long time ago.

They're a pair alright, amazing actors and I'm a big Paul Newman fan. Cool HAnd Luke is brilliant. How can an actor be so good whilst saying so little? It's mad.

Last Vegas any good?

I don't read any film reviews. They're so shit generally it's unreal.

Have a look in Time Out, they're either amazing and a must watch or shit and must avoid. Nobody seems to be able to write a good review.

I also watched Stand Up Guys - great film.

It's quite entertaining. A bit formulaic and cheesy but some nice lines from actors being their age, esp the jokes about Michael Douglas and younger women. No award winner, but a nice way to pass a couple of hours, esp if you have a few years under your own belt. Nice to see Morgan Freeman doing a bit of comedy.

I think I posted here about Stand Up Guys a few weeks ago. Again older actors being old and entertaining.

EDIT> Which critics slaughtered Last Vegas? It got 6.9 on IMDB which is usually reliable.

I thought I'd heard about it somewhere when it popped up on Netflix. I really enjoyed it, just easy watching and enjoyable. Plus, Walken can do no wrong.

If you've only just seen The Sting, have you watched The Deer Hunter? If not, do.

I watched about an hour of it once and fell asleep. I have an evening to myself tonight so may give it another go.

I haven't see that for 20 years. I hope it stands the test of time. I can't hear the phrase 'Russian roulette' without thinking of that film.
