That's because that remake of Gambit was just dreadful. The original (Michael Caine, Shirley McLaine, Herbert Lom) is a million times better.

I think the second series of The Newsroom is due soon. Really looking forward to it.

Great film .
Watched it a couple of nights ago. Thought it was ok apart from the ending when she went forward to confirm the body. That was unreal and well filmed.
Agreed on jessica Chastain. I thought the head of the CIA in pakistan was better though. Fantastic acting

Here's hoping that netfliks sees enough success to restart some independent productions
There was a piece in The Times yesterday about non-traditional companies making TV series. From memory Netflix has four series in the pipeline and Amazon and some others are also getting in on the game. Could be interesting.

Just finished watching an astonishing Mel Gibson film on OSN Movies which I'd never heard of before - How I Spent My Summer Vacation. It also had the title Get The Gringo in some countries.

Missed the first few minutes but I gather he was some small time crook who gets put inside by Mexican police....... the prison is like a small walled town with guards on the walls (it even has a taxi 'service').

Incredibly violent but brilliantly filmed, with some real energy. It's on again a few more times in the next few days, I see. Recommended.

Last night I watched Compliance which is basically the story of how staff at fast food restaurants in the US suffered horrible abuse from their own peers and managers, all brought about by a Psychopath on the phone. I thought it was well played out but it was pretty dark from the perspective that this stuff actually happened.

Its probably not for the too sensitive among us.

We thoroughly enjoyed London Boulevard on OSN the other night. A Cockney gangster movie starring that famous Cockney actor...Colin Farrell.

That's a good film. Not the average Guy Ritchie type anger-fest but a good, clever film

It's a decent film and Colin Farrell must have been acting!

Great soundtrack too.

His Cockney accent is certainly alot better than Brad Pitt's attempt at Irish in that Fight Club(?) movie.
