Visually it's a great film, but the plot isn't great. It's essentially the thing happens three times one after the other - lost in space, saved! x 3. Mweh.

Far and Away is an unknown quantity at this point
Default Re: good movies

One of the greatest stories ever told. I stumbled across this one late night in bed recently. My wife didn't care for it and kept interrupting, but i'm fascinated by rags to riches stories.

[QUOTE=Bahtatboy;11075917]The Wee Man. Glasgow gansters, based on a true story. In the fine British tradition of crime films. Available on Sky movies.[/QUOTE

True story according to whom?
Ferris family aspired to notoriety ( IMHO) similar to south of the border Krays.
I worked in pro bono law centres in Glasgow when this guy Paul (IMHO)
was trying to be 'made' in the cosanostra sense.
Please, don t spend money on the price of a ticket to see this film.

I went with a science geek.
Bad move except for the fact he disliked it as much as me.
Completely differ t reasons of course, however I had to listen to
his nerdy reasoning

Both agreed the whole thing was crapola.
The Movie of course, not the theory.

Amongst all the hype about Hoffman (a tragedy admittedly) we have forgotten (or failed even to realise) that another great Oscar winner passed away at the weekend - Maximilian Schell. 'Judgement at Nuremberg' was magnificent.

The Butler was very good. This is the one with Forrest Whittaker and Oprah Winfrey amongst a whole host of others. I'm specifying as they have been a few films by this title and this is called someone's name's (that I have forgotten) The Butler to differentiate.

Based on the true story of Cecil Gaines who worked as a butler at the White House over 20+ years.

Lee Daniels - he also directed that 'Precious With The Very Long Title' a few years ago.
