Re: Girlfriends wanted for outgoing British girl who has just arrived in abu dhabi!
I wondered how the OP got on?
I'm a single female, age 40, who likes a good social life and is a mad-keen scuba diver. I'm planning a move to the UAE (probably AD) in the New Year.
Wondered what my chances are of getting on and having a life, or if I should plan to stay in and wash my hair (and go mad!) for months....

Lindsay you'll be fine. Plenty of single women over here and as you have an interest such as scuba diving that'll be a focus for you to start meeting people, if you see what I mean. It's easy to have a good social life here.

If you just want to come for a look see, i'd reckon 2 years would be your max when single. There is scuba diving, winsurfing, gaellic footy, dune bashing etc etc loads of stuff to do but it is a kind of sterile place and you could get bored after a couple of years.
