Default Getting old...

...so the football 7's is coming to Dubai soon, March sometime, I've entered a footy team in there, a few others from here are in, Bangleman etc....

but as we don't want to get hammered by some just whipper snappers we've entered the veterans league, the over 35's.

Shit, when did I get old???

Anyway should be a great day out, loads of teams, celebrity teams, some old famous players etc, Ian Rush.

'It's football like you've never seen it before. Join AC Milan, Arsenal, Olympiacos, Celtic and other professional clubs, along with a host of legends of the game such as Ian Rush, Paul Walsh, Pierre van Hooijdonk , Kerry Dixon and Gordon Durie representing Liverpool, Manchester United, Arsenal, Rangers, Chelsea, Celtic and more – as well as 300 amateur teams in the first ever event of its kind in the UAE.'

You should win comfortably against whoever van Hooijdonk is playing for......... God, that man was seriously average.

Not saying much, Justin Fashanu makes Terry look like a nancy boy.

he left hsi club (notts forest) as said they had no good players and he was too good for them, he went on strike and refused to come back.

Until FIFA told him he couldn't leave so after about 3 months in the huff he went back, someone crossed the ball and he scored and the whole team celebrated with the guy who crossed the ball, and totally blanked Hoojdonk.

He did'nt come across as the most popular bloke at the football club.

Plenty ability but had a penchant for extreme laziness, must of been all that super skunk he used to smoke.!

You're not serious??

Whenever a defender came near him, he'd get rid of the ball a-s-a-p. Most of his goals were of the 'poacher' variety (open goal tap-ins, etc).

His 'excellent' goalscoring record was in leagues where the oppo were weak (helping Forest win promotion from the second division by scoring plenty, then struggling in the first).

Etc...............

..... and I just found this:

He left Celtic over a wage dispute towards the end of the 1996/97 season, stating that the reputed £7,000 a week he was being offered might be "good enough for the homeless" to live on "but not for an international striker."
