Default "Get that dirty guide dog off my bus!"

This story has predictably been covered by the likes of the Mail and Express, but it's getting wider coverage too............ (I'm assuming it's genuine)

I've heard it anecdotally too (I'm in the UK at the moment). Even Norman Baker MP (usually Mr Sensible) has been prompted to comment.

In the Mail they report that some cab driver was prosecuted for discriminating against a disabled person. Sounds fair enough to me.

There was a story last year that bus passengers were kept waiting while the driver prayed, but that DID turn out to be a hoax. This one seems to be genuine.

as if a guide dog would lick anyone- its a working dog, not some laprat. and what about all the people that like dogs on buses I always like to make a fuss of them, its not as if bus drivers own their buses.

Does this not indicate that the Muslim Council believe it could be a problem?

"The Muslim Council of Britain urged tolerance and common sense on the issue. A spokesman said: “Muslim drivers should have no hesitation in allowing guide dogs in their taxi or bus. Some schools of Islam regard the saliva of dogs as impure and others think there is no problem."

I've never heard of dog saliva being impure (unless suffering from rabies)...whatever next

No no no no no. Dog saliva is a medley of all sorts of nasties--dog bites can be really dangerous because of that.

Never kiss a dog.

It's also making headlines in Denmark now.
What I don' t get is, that there is always some imam giving his comments to it. Why the heck are they asked?
