Taunting Mossad in the hope they can bait out some intelligence if they try to make contact with their operative? Maybe he told them something of real value.

To be fair he does seem like a small cog in a big mechanism and these things are usually compartmentalised so those taking part have no idea what the big picture looks like, they just follow orders and obtain this/move that/kill anyone in a given hotel room.
