GCC world cup.
So, looks like a winter world cup with group games in Bahrain, Oman and abu dhabi. While this all makes sense, it does make the whole bid process look shockingly flawed.
Still by then the football powerhouses will have formed a new association, and the Qatar final will be between ivory coast and Yemen.

Mind you, that's assuming the FIFA regulations are adhered to - they've been ignored on "Number of Cities" - supposed to be a minimum of ten, but Qatar has... er... Doha, and... er... Doha... er.... that's it............
Jan/Feb tournament makes perfect sense though.

Re: GCC world cup.
a) The decision to award Qatar a World Cup is ridiculous in the extreme.
b) If it IS going to be in Qatar, a winter schedule makes sense.
We've got 12 years to get used to the idea, and to adjust that season to two 'halves' of, say Aug-Dec and Mar-Jun, and if necessary, the Prem can be reduced for that season only to 16 teams (i.e. only 30 matches) to help with the planning.

If they didn't include non-Qatar matches in their original presentations during the selection process, they won't be able to add those now.
