Default Further to 'dear Moderators

Dear Bob,

Respectfully, you have just closed another thread- 'Dear Moderators' started by Alen1.

Can I just say that TIO is not a convenient medium for posters in the ME.
You will know that ME is subject to strict policing and scrutiny from Etisilat.
Like many on ME, I have in the past contributed to threads in TIO however it is really annoying when we are unable to follow particular posts ergo the debate due to sites being 'not allowed'. I give you as an example Cuckoofromers thread on 'Don't Shave Your .......' I am certain anyone on ME who might wish to read the OP's post will be unable to do so (w.o a vpn anyways)

Further, the original thread you closed was not 'argumentative or heated' in the main- it was good forensic discourse.

With reference to Alen1's original post in 'Dear Moderators', can I also say, respectfully, that you closed the 'Beyond Belief' thread 19 minutes after the exchange between two posters( who were posting per minute) had ended. Had the poster who was subject to a barage of personal insults because he expressed a differing opinion from the other poster complained then I could better understand you closing or deleting the thread.I fully agree with Alen1 that the thread would have been picked up again at a more cerebral level.
I wanted to post this on Alen1's thread but it was closed so I opened a new thread. One way to get the thread count up I suppose.

I enjoy political threads in the UK newspapers...when someone is over the top the moderator just deletes the post not the thread.

Yes, they obviously have working moderators there; some of ours just say 'I don't have the time to deal with all the crap quite frankly'.

If they don't have time for 'all the crap' perhaps its time they passed on the baton to some who do?
