- oh? I've heard otherwise from people who want to sell...

In any case, the govt. has a 50% shareholding, so nothing to worry I guess...

I think it is pretty safe to be honest with you, I would rather have it in bonds than the bank - it is easy to access and you can win millions!!

I would tell most people to hold tight. Unless you need the cash now, no point in pulling out of markets when they are so low. They will eventually increase again, so best to ride it out.

Of course, it does depend on what exactly you are invested in, as some people would be advised to tweak their holdings.

(And I am authorised to give individual advice.)

Well just had a look; gold is closed at -6.85% and silver about -15%...
I'm staying put until further notice, or to put it in better words, until another foolish thought...

My sources indicate gold down only 4.5% and silver down 10.8% but pretty sharp falls whichever source you believe. Oil down 8% too. In the hope that the Dow Jones may have bottomed, we have invested US$ 25,000 in stocks today. Even if the drop continues for a couple more weeks, we expect a rebound eventually.

The global financial meltdown is real..and has just affected me directly. My monthly salary from Australia just dropped by 23 percent this month when converted to dirhams as a result of the exchange rate... the Aussie dollar has plummeted. :curse:

What was is that Paul Keating said about Australia becoming a banana republic.

Stop gloating.
Just make sure you get me a sea facing room, crisp laundered linen, a copy of Heroditus the Histories
a few stuuffed vineleaves, some Ouzo- then I'll edit. No need for a big package really...........
