Fresh poured 'cement' damages signalling on Victoria line
Yeah that's gona be a b#$ch to clean, probably have to install new gear.
The Telegraph calls it cement, but it's really cementious mortar, grout or concrete (assuming it has aggregate in it). http://usvsth3m.com/post/74285062011...e-is-currently http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/ukne...oria-Line.html |

Flowing concrete... But someone knew what they were doing and chucked a load of sugar in which prevents it setting
A top tip if you ever need to stop some setting in a hurry, or sabotage something belonging to someone else ! |

Don't you just love it when contractors fail to grasp the concept of 'flowing'''?
Many years ago I remember a job in Grimsby when several extra drains got filled got filled along with the intended one before the contractor finally got it.. |

All concrete in the middle east flows, it's just a matter of adding enough water. (after you take some test cubes of course!)

It basically stops the hydration of cement particles . A lot of the old type retarder / admixtures used to be molasses based .

I don't follow you:confused: Do you mean the concrete in the mixer truck has too much water added or do you mean due to the high humidity very little water is needed?
Less scrupulous contractors I mean of course  |
