Freeloader (Give Me Building Materials)
Just posting here on the off chance that some of you AEC guys might know of a way to get my hands on some recycled building materials.
I am lucky enough to have a small yard, but the rocks underfoot make it all but unusable and the landlord doesn't want to landscape. I thought i might put down some fake grass but don't want to spend 4000 dizzlers to get a landscaper in when I could be kicked out in 12 months time.
Surely there is a firm that takes offsite used materials and recycles them in Sharjah somewhere? and yes, I have scouted out a few sites and asked around, but no luck and am not keen on getting deported for nicking materials off site.

What specifically are you looking for? Recycled Building materials covers a pretty broad scope...

There probably is but they recycle and resell, not give away. Most of the old stone, crushed blocks/concrete etc. (if that's what you were thinking of) is sold back to be used as road sub base.

The sideyard we have is approx 5m x 15m of great space that is covered in 30-40mm sharp rocks, bloody hard to walk on and makes the space unusable.
I was hoping to get some artificial grass laid down, but at 75sqm x 160dhs = 12,000dhs Seems a bit much.
I thought there maybe be a firm that recycles those type of materials for me to buy a bit cheaper. Any Construction Managers on here who know who they call when they need demolition and removals?

Why don't you just cover it with sand? Dune sand is cheap as chips to get delivered. Also you'd have to prep the ground with something similar prior to putting said fake grass down.
In terms of waste from sites, re-cycling isn't a common occurance and most will go to landfills.

you could cover over the top of it with 20mm washed pebble, (rounded stone) would be much easier to walk on.
