Default Free Public Transport Day

Morning all,

My mrs swears to me that she heard a radio advert for one day over the weekend to be a free transport day on the metro / buses etc. Great. That's not the bit that was hard to believe.

She is adamant that the advert said something along the lines of "all public transport will be free for people without colour / who aren't coloured"

Can someone please tell me she misheard this, surely the government aren't that bad???

Looks like it happened on Friday, no mentioned of whether being brown, white, yellow, pink or anything else influenced whether it was free or not though.

It was the fourth public transport day last Friday http://www.khaleejtimes.com/kt-artic...tion=transport

Good day to chose with the Metro not firing up until 1pm. One curious thing I read on our companies blurb was that the government department whose employees used public transport the most that day would win a prize. How could they know who you worked for?

I bet the prize was a car for all the department employees

I think there is a serial number on the Metro card but I have no idea what system at the backend is running and how can they identify which card number was used the most.

And btw, free day or not, I think its about time they introduced a dozen or more cabs to each train, increasing the frequency of trains per hour just wont cut it as 'some' people just WONT wait for the next one a few minutes away. If there is an open door and if that door happens to be open then some people just HAVE to rush in regardless of the fact that someone wants to come out or the fact that they end up dry humping the person in front of them....or is that why it happens in the first place

I've started just barging into people who don't wait for the lift to unload before getting in. If you're not trying to walk out the second that light appears in the lift door gap then that's it, you're ****ed, you're either going to have to ask permission and squeeze out or just go wherever the ****wits want to go.

One of the guys at work got bombarded and stuck in a lift by a bunch of people who didn't let him out, so he squeezed through, got to the control panel and hit about 10 more floors. The confusion for the first few was quite funny apparently, until a bloke wanted to check why so many were lit up. The guy just said that because they insisted on wasting his time by making him go back up in the lift, he wanted to waste theirs, the punishment for questioning it was even more floors to be stopped at! Priceless.

Excellent - but canny folk know that, if you press lift floor buttons twice, the light goes out again (a phenomenon unique to lifts in this region, it seems). Your mate's travelling companions were a bit slow there........

I think he was stood by the buttons, guarding them.

I've worked out how to lock some lifts so they don't stop anywhere apart from where you want to go...

yeah, just keep the 'close doors' button pressed from the moment you press your desired floor and just keep it pressed
but only works in a few models and not all and never do it in front of anyone
otherwise what goes around comes around...after having stopped at varying floors

and pressing the undesired lit up button again to un-light it also works on a few of the new-er models, doesnt work on all

I obviously need to stop spending so much time in lifts fml!

Doors open, doors closed, current floor. HOLD, Door open or close will start flashing, lift is now yours.

Need to repeat to unlock. Only a proper knobhead would leave a lift locked on a floor in a busy building
