Re: Forthcoming England Series

which venue is better for enjoying the day out, Dubai or AD?

TheShed Jan 16th 2012 10:49 am

Re: Forthcoming England Series

Cant comment on AD as I have never been to the stadium, but Dubai Cricket Ground is reasonably well laid out, fairly easy to get to etc. I know quite a lot of people who are going so there should be a good "Barmy Army" crowd.

Yep - but only if they send me my tickets! Paid last October (after reading newspaper ad) as a birthday pressie for self. Phoned the supplier 2 weeks ago who said tickets would be sent out next week. Have I been ripped off?:(

Re: Forthcoming England Series

would love to be there tomorrow but have to be in RAK

at 2pm UAE the Barmy Army will play the Last Post and sing Jerusalem to coincide with the funeral of Barmy Legend George The Podge Summerside who sadly died last weekend. George's flag Podgy Roker will be in place behind the bowlers arm as usual

Podgy and 2 other England folks celebrate beating the Aussies

Yep, we booked about two weeks ago through timeouttickets. We have recived tickets for the tests, but all ODI tickets are apparently collectable at the stadium. We have had an eMail confirmation showing us where to collect etc.

Hope it comes through for you

Not the best start for England. Cooky out for 3 already. Not being shown on OSN Sports. Any idea if any Arab sports channels might be televising the matches?...now 42-4 with Bellers out for a duck. Yikes.

Hopefully this scoring will mean it will be wrapped up early. I Live in Sports City and it is an absolute 'mare getting in and out when anything is on at the Cricket Stadium.

Why on earth did they start test match on a tuesday . It should have started today and at least the ground would have had some atmosphere over the weekend.

Lifeless wicket and a souless stadium plus we were tapped in every area !

The Abu Dhabi test match is free (there was an article in the telegraph saying that the organisers were concerned that there wouldn't be enough people there otherwise). The One Days and 20-20s you need to pay for, but I read somewhere that they don't expect to sell out (though no doubt some classes of tickets might).
