The Forbes article is a dreadfully weak analysis of an extraordinarily arbitrary and poorly constructed HSBC (imagine that) survey with highly dubious methodology (online surveys are notoriously unreliable) and utterly useless output that seems to have received an inordinate amount of unjustified publicity.

The survey isn't obviously meant to be considered as a rigorous academic investigation yet the results aren't bonkers from a personal standpoint.

Least friendly ---UAE
Most challenging ----India
Earning potential----UAE,Hong Kong & Singapore
3 different categories. So while living in UAE is easier/less stressfull than India, the locals in India are friendlier.
As for earning potential, the UAE along with SG & HK comes tops but it doesn't change the fact that it is the least friendliest place to live.

And since we're all guest workers who'll never get a passport (unlike many expats who settle in the USA/EU etc) it makes me wonder why so many people are defensive about the Sand Pit or anywhere they have no real roots in and likely never will have.
