Yes wait until they are old enough to make their own decisions and relying on their own money, then we will see where their taste buds lie

PapaDoc is an unknown quantity at this point

Hardees all the way! I always avoid the Chinese (heavily salted and MSG laden) food at the foodcourts. This is a shame as I absolutely love Chinese or any other far eastern cuisine.

I've never been to China, but I once visited a friend who lived in International City, China Cluster. Been to this chinese restaurant, which was absolutely packed with chinese folk. We come in as 3 westerners and all the heads turn to us, just staring!

So we sit, get a menu (only in chinese), we ask what they recommend us and nobody spoke ANY English. Then a chef came out with a camera and showed us some pictures of dishes, while trying to explain what it was. When he was doing a pig you could've swept us up from underneath the table, hilarious!

The food was absolutely amazing though!

In my time in Taiwan I only tried authentic local cuisine a few times but it was very, very different to Chinglish food. Ducks arses, chickens feet, hundred-year eggs (boiled in horse's piss, allegedly)...all good stuff.
