best insert a smilie;) See Emirates are supposedly intro 'free kids flights/access to attractions' from July to try and boost visitor numbers. In the bigger picture, honestly think the strange looking police chief who called for abolition of sponsorship yesterday is much more on the right path towards resucitating the economy...... |

Cos it's a strategy, loss leader type of thing.Suspect it'll end up very much like Ryanair...i.e. charge shedloads per extra kilo;bank loans for an inflight coffee and pkt of salt'n vinegar, one visit only to loo per flight, fleet of cropsprayers etc etc

yup you could be right there, but imagine the influx of illegal 'immigrants'
There are a high number of previously legal immigrants now illegal in UAE becos of the Sponsorship system. |

if they do cancel sponsorship they will introduce something else, like charging 3000 dirhams for the ID card which will definately become compulsory
At least you are in control of your own destiny then. |

they weigh your luggage and charge you per KG?
it is 40dhs per bag each way - if you forget to do it online then you get charged around 150dhs per bag at the airport the ticket ended up being about 800dhs cheaper than Emirates |

So airlines like Swiss and Alitalia have done so well at hiding profits, that they had to get bailed out..

Don't be fooled by phoney bankruptcies..They hide all their assets, file bankruptcy, get out from under all their contracts then hord all the money for themselves..It's a game.

Don't be naive Admon. What do you mean where did I get that $4billion dollars from, in those un named Lichtenstein/Cayman Islands bank accounts? Well you see I got an email from this guy in Africa, who was the manager of a bank in Burkino Fasa.. These people are just suits, named chairman that shake hands and know the right people in politics. Don't be naive enough to believe they actually have the intelligence and the wherewithall to commit massive undetectable fraud. All they stretch to is ridiculous expense accounts and perks, then once it goes tits up, a few million in a pay off and a solid gold pension for life. |

How long before Mr spend-a-penny-to-spend-a-penny Ryanair tries that one? |

Don't be naive Admon. In the UAE: Kang Pacific (Fujairah), RAK Airways, Silverjet Apart from RAK Airways which I think is/was government owned, I doubt the other owners are happier and richer after their airline adventure. |
