Well some of you heard of the term Flash Mob for sure and if you didn't well youtube it or google it.

I'm planning a flash mob in AD for a purpose.
So on a random note wanted to see how many here will be interested.

Please respond accordingly to the poll.

I have no need to 'youtube' or 'google' anything.

If you cannot or will not be bothered to explain what the hell you are talking about, it's probably offensive or illegal or both.

Note to Admins and Mods - I suggest you delete this thread before it causes offence.

I just wondering if it'll still be as funny when the entire forum is arrested for sex on the beach? :D

It takes various forms. I remember one such incident outside St Paul's Cathedral where over a hundred people descended and suddenly engaged in a mass pillow fight. Other ones include hundreds of people suddenly standing still like statues for 5 minuted in Trafalgar Square.

Is normally enacted by students, the unemployed and sheep.

OK...............

So that leaves only one question left to answer:

What is the "purpose" that Tiger989 wants to organise one in Ab Dab for?

Re: Flash Mob for a Purpose

i went to youtube and viewed some of the flash mobs which was the first time for me to see it ..

this is one of them

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mUZrrbgCdYc

and what i understand from it is that a group of people in a public place starts out of a sudden an action that is not expected in an organized way in a public place.

but what i don't understand is

what is the reason?
do you have enough resources to organize something like that?
are there alot of people interested in participating?
is it allowed by law? or would you people face any problems if you didn't take approvals? (as i know that a guy who is turning music too loudly in his car may get a fine for that if was caught by the police man).

many things to consider.

its meant to be:

a) a bit of a laugh
b) to freak people out a bit
c) something different

tobe honest, if you did it over here I wouldn't be surprised at all if you didn't get arrested, this is the wrong country for this sort of thing completely.

And aye, it's normally students who do it and think they are dead wacky and that.

Thats a good question.

Well I got this brilliant Idea.. And it will be done... I can't announce why I'm organizing a flash mob for a purpose, but it is for one.

And yeah most flash mobs are pointless. But the one I'm organizing is different. Its sending out a message. Nothing illegal or offensive. Its for a good cause.
The one in Dubai was a total failure cause Firas who organized it is a total self centered prick. No offence to him...

Something inspired me to go on this project. And I've posted this in alot of UAE forums to see who and how many are willing to participate.

You will never understand why Beardman.
You need to open your mind and change the way you think and look at things.
As I said I'm preparing a flash mob for a purpose, its a great idea.
I'm not a student, I'm a successful engineer working for Honeywell Process Solutions.

and to answer the rest of the questions:
is it allowed by law?
I'm not breaking any of the laws or offending or insulting anyone or religion.
would you people face any problems if you didn't take approvals?
Approvals? I don't need one.
(as i know that a guy who is turning music too loudly in his car may get a fine for that if was caught by the police man).
Sorry loads of Bullshit. I always drive on the corniche with loud music. Not one single police man fined me.

The T-Mobile dance at Liverpool St station looks brilliant.......... see my thread about it (if that's what a flashmob is).
