He did all the James Bond stuff, no? Maybe I have the wrong guy...

He is also responsible for Out of Africa and Dances with Wolves... true genius of a man, selling the same music to two different films and collecting awards along the way.

Actually, to be honest, I can't really remember (as in really remember) the soundtrack to any film (well, ok, Sound of Music maybe), but I can say, "Yeah, I seem to remember that the music to Pulp Fiction was good, but I'm buggered if I can actually remember any of the songs."

some that come to mind

great choice - Night on Earth - brilliant film, brilliant soundtrack.
Requiem For Dream - Clint Mansell's second soundtrack - his first for Pi was stunning as well
Blade Runner - Vangelis
Blow Up - Herbie Hancock
Natural Born Killers - Nine Inch Nails
Trainspotting - (when I worked at EMI I lobbied A&R to get Bowie to re-do the soundtrack in a Reznor-esque Natural Born Killers way - proposal was sent but he didn't go for it - I still think dialogue, Bowie, classics would have made a stunning album... :( )
and an odd one for me... Highlander - Queen

I loved Almost Famous, especially that scene, with one of Elton's most underrated songs (even though they randomly edited the song, which normally runs to about six minutes).......

........... and a quick visit to IMDB tells me that Patrick Fugit will be 30 next week....... never even heard of most things he has done since then.......

PS: Evita is on OSN Movies Festival NOW......... strange film; never could make up my mind about it. Some good songs though.

The Dollars trilogy. music by Enio Morricone. Surprised it's not been mentioned thus far.

Hesher, all classic Metallica and a dash of Motorhead. awesome film to boot.

Gummo..by far the most heavy metal soundtrack of all time, which by default, makes it awesome. Most of the bands are still languishing in underground mystique and mystery.

Lord Of War

Dancer in the Dark, sucker for a bit of Bjork though.

I watched Almost Famous last night, some 8 years after I last saw it. Superb film and Billy Crudup, most attractive.
