Again, if you like cars, The Driver is a minimalist film that's worth catching.
The God's Must Be Crazy is also good for a laugh, but very little known outside South Africa.

Absolutely. To which I add:

Casino
The French Connection
Deliverance
Chinatown
Animal House
Airplane
Blade Runner
Ferris Bueller's Day Off
Fight Club
Toy Story
Heat
Jurassic Park
Groundhog Day
Reservoir Dogs
Pulp Fiction

(The last two need to be mentioned more than once. In fact, Pulp Fiction possibly ranks 1st, 2nd and 3rd.)

What sort of films are you after, just action stuff/ light entertainment or full blown 'classics'?

edit to say android app showbox is amazing for downloading films. You can search by genre, age or imdb rating

sadly, I have an ipad -- I use yifi and then copy it over.

I quite like action classics, preferably a box set. Predator, Rocky, Rambo that kind of thing. Mindless stuff.

The Breakfast Club and St. Elmo's Fire are terribly dated, but still have half decent soundtracks in mid 80s way.
