Again, if you like cars, The Driver is a minimalist film that's worth catching.
The God's Must Be Crazy is also good for a laugh, but very little known outside South Africa.

I quite like action classics, preferably a box set. Predator, Rocky, Rambo that kind of thing. Mindless stuff.

The Breakfast Club and St. Elmo's Fire are terribly dated, but still have half decent soundtracks in mid 80s way.
