I've been making my way through the Rocky box set on the flights back and forth to Saudi. Brilliant stuff.

Any other recommendations. I have Rambo next in the playlist.

Is it shit films from that period? If so I recently saw St. Elmo's Fire on some movie channel, my god did it suck hairy donkey balls. I seemed to remember it as good or cool in my youth.

Oh a thumbs up for the original Robocop, still good now

Predator. For comedy value.

In the chopper at the start of the mission...some line about dinosaur bollocks or something. Quality stuff.

I've starting using Yifi for downloads, great site.

'Shout at the Devil' is on at the moment, 'Rollerball' is next up.

Saw bits of Ghostbusters yesterday. The special effects are laughably naff, the storyline risible and just so dated. Aimed at 10 year olds of the eighties. A modern 10 year old would look at you as if you were demented if you asked them to sit through it now. Best left on a mouldering (Betamax) video cassette.

I have never seen a single Rocky or Rambo film, so I suspect any I'd recommend aren't ones you'd like.

Grosse Point Blank is (worringly) from the 90s. That's pretty good.

On the John Cusack theme, Hi Fidelity might just squeak in the 90s.

Total recall is excellent, the remake was terrible.

On the Arnie theme:
Commando
Conan the Barbarian
Terminator
Running Man

All stupidly entertaining movies
