Paddingtons are a bit old hat tbh, everyone had them - and so fake ones are really past it.
Just remember if you do get her a fake one make sure she doesn't ever travel to France or Italy with it, she is likely to be fined a large amount at customs.

Actually this is a bug bear of mine, the common misconception that fakes are somehow so much worse. They are not, various industries tout utter claptrap about fakes in order to justify their own exhorbitant profit margins whilst at the same time gaily having their stuff made by the same indentured labour in the same ****ed up countries and villages.
The same goes for shoes, belts and almost all so called luxury clothing and accesories, the only luxury part is the price you pay for all the blood sweat and tears of the kiddies who made it.
That said I do believe that no matter how bad the conditions of these labourers its still better than no job and therefore no food or shelter, I just wish people would open their eyes and get past the propaganda bullshit.
If you buy chocolate in all likelyhood you are supporting child slavery, if you buy branded or any otehr type of clothing you are supporting indenured labour in asia, if you buy electronics you are supporting the continuation of china's gulg system, etc etc etc ad infinitum
the are NO high horses these days unless you shop very very very carefully

..blaming corporate globalization is a good starting point.
Anyone that buys brands and makes themselves out to be a 'champion of poor people' is a hypocrite.
