Can someone explain this to me, please. I want to join but I don't know how it works. All my friends from London are on it, and I feel left out.
Thanks,

Re: Facebook
Join up, it will go through your email account and tell you which of your contacts are on, you can then ask tehm to be your 'friends', once you're on you can upload pics, videos, email each other - its a big community thing really - may sound crap but is very handy and quite addictive to some.

So, people will only approach you if they have your email address stored in their contacts, is that right? I am just a bit worried about bumping into people I am trying to avoid... or being approach by random internet wierdos!

Others will just see your basic info.

If people ask to be your friend you can just ignore them and they don't get to see anything bar your name and maybe pic.

And the point of Facebook is...? If you cannot get friends in the real world, you can create some on your computer
