a fab restaurant...

Re: a fab restaurant...
What is deemed as 'expensive' for a meal in Dubai?
I know I can pay an arm and a leg or two just to be seen in these 'burjy' places, but I'd much rather give my money to an establishment that is really doing good stuff.
PS. I'm now working out in Crapademic city, and the options for lunch are non existant. Does anyone have recommendations for nearby restaurants or a half decent delivery service operating in that area?

One of the best views I've seen in Dubai from the outside balcony, will be even better when it cools down.
I still say Gary Rhodes beats them all.

We went to Noble House recently and it was fairly pricey for Dubai - 888dh for a six course meal then with drinks on top, our bill came to around 1300dh a head. The food was very good though, spoilt by the (very pretentious) Asia bar upstairs pounding music out halfway through our meal.

Just a complete rip-off joint. If you wanna see the bloody Burj, just drive up and have a look. Eat and drink somewhere else.

I made the mistake of going to Pier Chic...6 people..and we had two seafood platters as mains...each AED1,800 and very poor and overcooked...as well as separate entrees and desserts. End of night the bill was about AED9,000 ! Highly overrated restaurant with a sea view to the Burj.
I think you pay for the view and the fact that the restaurant lies over water at the end of pier. Great for tourists, but when you've been a couple of years..one tends to yawn a wee bit over seeing the Burj again.
